Deputy David Eugene Beck

End of Watch: November 17, 1975

Cause: gunfire

Deputy Beck, along with Deputy Stolz were shot and killed while searching a wooded area for subjects that had fired at another deputy earlier in the day. Both deputies were caught in the mist of gunfire, yet still managed to kill one of the two subjects during the exchange. The second subject was apprehended and subsequently sentenced to life.

Deputy Beck had served with the Mobile County Sheriff's Office for six years. He is survived by his wife and daughter.
